This morning we were up bright and early ready to go and take a tour of the delivery suite. I was full of excitement and at the same time very nervous. We met up with the rest of the parents to be at Stepping Hill Hospital. After a drink and a biscuit we did a little test of things we already know about labour.
We were all given cards with writing on and had to place them on the floor where we thought they should be on the Labour ladder. For example, one sign read "mild contractions" so this would be at the start of delivery, another said contravtions 5 mins apart so this was put in the middle of the Labour ladder.
The Dads to be were then given pieces of cards with writing on and asked to put them where they thought they should go...this was pretty funny.
One guy put his sign that read make a cup of tea and a sandwich at the end of Labour, but hey who knows maybe we'll want a sandwich.
Next stop it was off to the delievry suite. The first room seemed pretty small but looked like everything needed was in place. All the rooms had birthing balls for you to sit on, but I feel like I am going to tipple over when I sit down on one. The next delivery room was a lot bigger but also very hot and this concerned me as I am too hot lately. I told Steve we need to take in our minin fan to keep me cool. I guess I will soon be in one of those rooms. Not long to go now
